We're in the middle of a heat wave, with daily temperatures in the nineties. It's not a sunny heat wave. It's a rainy one. It's humid, so humid, and raining so hard I think we are in the middle of a monsoon. If the sun was out, it would be drier, but the temperatures would be into the hundreds. The sun here is brutal!

Summer Sunshine by Tori Beveridge Water color, ink and acrylic on watercolor paper. |
All I can say is, thank goodness for air conditioning! I've been quite happy indoors painting and watching the rain through my window.
I made a Squash Book to be used as a mini art journal and made bright summery front and back covers for it. They were both done on 140 lb cold press watercolor paper (a nice weight for a cover) with acrylics and ink.

I "arted" on a few of the inner segments, but I won't show you inside, because I want it's recipient to see it first.
This next piece is a little cooler, but still summery I think. She makes me think of summer nights.
